Norway seems to be a hotbed for sleazy hard rock music, because in my possesion I hold a copy of "Fire Your Bullets" by the band Hussto. Hussto is one of many bands coming out of Norway, and with time, this band could be pretty big. I was skimming through the band's myspace page, and the members of Hussto look really young, and this is their 2nd E.P. the production isn't all that great, but that's a good thing, I think it adds to the sleaze factor. the opening track "Fire Your Bullets" is the best song on the E.P. it shows you just how much potential the band has, its a balls out sleazy rocker, and the rest of the songs stand up pretty well also. "Sting Of The Scorpion" is a slower ballad type song. the only song that didn't seem to fit was "Heaven & Hell" its got a total different direction than the rest of the songs, but it still shows what the band is capable of. I really like the guitar work on this E.P. and since the production value isn't very high, the guitar solos have an old school feel, kind of like KISS's debut release.
All in all, its a good 5 song E.P. I hope Hussto stick around, I'm interested in what else they can come up with in the future. check them out at their Myspace
3*** out of 5
